Desktop Search for Blackberry Devices
Partnership extends the power of the X1 Search platform to mobile users
ORLANDO, FL (Wireless Enterprise Symposium 2005) - April 19, 2005
WebMessenger Mobile and X1 Technologies, a recognized leader in desktop search solutions, announced today that they have partnered to deliver a new BlackBerry® device application that will extend the power of X1 Desktop Search to mobile users. The new application, Mobile Search Client for X1, leverages the secure infrastructure of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server™ and Mobile Data Services and provides the user with an efficient and secure method to search and retrieve email, attachments, contacts and file content on a remote desktop PC or server running X1 Search behind a corporate firewall.
"X1 Desktop Search and X1 Enterprise Edition enable professionals to instantly search and retrieve the critical knowledge and content that matters most, allowing them to stay productive and respond at the speed of real-time business," said Josh Jacobs, President of X1 Technologies. "Just as if they were accessing it from the web or their desktop, the Mobile Search Client for X1 brings that powerful search experience and delivers it to mobile users who require immediate access to their vital information while away from the office. With mobile extensions to X1, there are no limits to the amount of content a BlackBerry user can carry with them. We are very excited to be working with cutting edge, independent software vendors like WebMessenger who have decided to build value-added solutions for the X1 Search platform."
"We are delighted that X1 selected WebMessenger to deliver this groundbreaking application for BlackBerry," said Val Babajov, President and CEO of WebMessenger Mobile. "X1 Search Services SDK allowed us to create a powerful search based interface to remote content. Although we are applying this to email and files at the moment, X1's search based interface can be generalized to support a whole new generation of mobile data applications. The possibilities are unlimited."
The Mobile Search Client for X1, to be released later this year, is being demonstrated at the WebMessenger Mobile booth #146 at WES and will be available for purchase from both WebMessenger and X1 Technologies.
